- Shortly after the end of World War I and the Bolshevik
Revolution in Russia, the Red Scare covered United
States. - Fear of communists, socialists, anarchists, and other
dissidents (a person who opposes official
policies.) - May 8 1919; The American Legion was founded.
- June 2; a bomb plot that covered many states, was discovered.
- September 9; Boston police force went on strike.
- September 13; striking policemen wouldn’t be allowed to return
and that the city would hire a new police force, ending the strike. - September 22; 275,000 steel workers walked off the
job. - Early 1920’s; fear seemed to squander.
- Summer of 1920; the Red Scare had made its sweep and was largely
over.
